Work with Older Adult Center Director to assist with the planning and implementation of the center's recreation, educational and cultural activities. To ensure funder reports are completed on time and are accurate.
Under direction, assist with the intake screening/assessments and case assistance. Assist in overall management of the office, providing the Older Adult Center director support and follow-up. Adjust, add or delete accurately and on time, daily numbers in Peer Place on-line reporting system. Work with volunteers who assist in the program functions. Develop and create activities for different ethnic groups at the center. Perform miscellaneous duties as needed i.e. special trips, conduct senior activities. In the absence of the Center Director, carry out the duties of the Director.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Two to four years of experience in community, group or teaching environment. Prior experience working with older adults preferred. Bi-lingual in Spanish, Creole, Chinese preferred.
The services we provide to seniors include two nutritious hot meals served five days per week, Information and Referrals, Home Care, Social Security, SSI, Medicaid, Medicare, Benefits assistance, Health Promotion Workshops; Medical Screening, Exercise & Nutrition Classes; Computer Training, Arts & Craft, Music, Counseling, and Transportation. We offer opportunities to volunteer and develop leadership skills by serving as center-wide officers on the Advisory Board and/or Board of Directors.
